1950.

I’m trying to ignore the fact that I’ve woken up with a McDonald’s ad in my head (because that’s obviously where I’ve got this from) and instead shall focus on the cheery song for a beautiful Sunday morning.

Written by Irvin Berlin it first appeared in the 1950 stage musical Call Me Madam, later a 1952 film starring Ethel Merman and Donald O’Connor. Perry Como and Doris Day both had hits with recordings of the song and since then it has been covered by Ethel Merman, Ella Fitzgerald, Rosemary Clooney and Astrid Gilberto.
