My brain is having a bit of a camp Sunday morning with The Sound of Music. Is somebody using it in a Christmas advert this year? Or maybe my mind just going on a trip down memory lane.

The song doesn’t really need much introduction, first performed by Julie Andrews in 1961 on The Garry Moore Show and then obviously in the 1965 film adaptation of the 1959 Rogers and Hammerstein broadway musical.

The soundtrack was released the same year as the film and reached number one in the UK album charts, spending a total of seventy weeks at the top.
