It’s The Beatles this morning, okay the video is Paul McCartney but that’s because I couldn’t find any footage of the Beatles performing this.

Although this was the title track of both the film and the resulting EP/LP, the song was never released as a single. The album itself caused a problem for the band as there weren’t enough songs in the film for a full LP, the solution was a double EP release in the UK.  Meanwhile in the US, where the EP was unpopular, the film soundtrack was combined with previously released singles from that year to produce a full LP.

The LP version hit number one in the US album charts and remained there for eight weeks. Here in the UK the EP peaked at number two in the singles chart, right behind their number one at the time Hello, Goodbye.
