The unmistakeable Abba, who need no introduction or explanation. This was a truly global hit for them, reaching number one in seventeen countries across the world. It became their first, and only, number one in the US whilst here in the UK it spent twenty weeks on the charts including six weeks at number one.

It was re-released in the UK in 1992 following the success of Erasure‘s Abba-esque EP and spent five weeks on the charts, peaking at number sixteen.

A Europop song that outlived the disco boom and has become their best known track, it is regarded by many as the perfect pop song. I have to say I’m inclined to agree.
