March 1977.

You can’t really go wrong with Fleetwood Mac, in my humble opinion, and this has become one of my favourites over the years – not to mention being a light at the end of the tunnel when I needed it.

Written by Christine McVie, this song, like so many others on the album Rumours, was penned whilst relationships were breaking down within the band. Her own marriage to John McVie had ended after eight years and she admitted that the song might have been aimed at him when she wrote it, although it wasn’t until years later that he realised this himself.

This has become one of the band’s most enduring songs and at the time it gave them a top-ten hit in Belgium, Netherlands and New Zealand and a number one in Canada and the US. Here in the UK though it wasn’t so popular, spending five weeks on the charts and peaking at number thirty-two.
