Seriously, I am laughing so much this morning you may just have to talk amongst yourselves whilst I pull myself together. Has the inner jukebox finally blown a fuse, or is lockdown taking its toll? Just where the frilly heck did this come from?!

Written by Lionel Richie this was released as the third single from his second album Can’t Slow Down. Even Richie himself admitted that the song was corny, but, he also claimed that by the time he had finished writing it he had fallen in love with the song.

On its release this became a huge global hit, reaching number one in ten countries worldwide. In the US it topped the Billboard chart, the R&B chart and the Contemporary chart simultaneously for a combined eleven weeks whilst here in the UK, it spent fifteen weeks on the chart including six weeks at number one.

Oh, and a word of warning – if you should ever meet Mr Richie I wouldn’t recommend uttering the lines Hello, is it me you’re looking for? Apparently he’s a little fed up these days of hearing it everywhere he goes.
