1967.

Mid-week blues? Not a chance! At least not when you have this running around your head first think. How terribly, terribly – well, jolly!

This was originally written in 1929 by British entertainer, singer, songwriter and actor Leslie Sarony.

In 1967 The Bonzo God Doo-Dah band recorded the track for their debut album Gorilla, maintaining the nineteen-twenties vibe of the original.

This wasn’t actually released as a single (which makes me wonder where my had found it) and it would be another year before the band hit the spotlight with their 1968 release I’m the Urban Spaceman.
