6 April, 1992.

Something just a little bit different this morning, and without being silly about it either. I’m liking it.

Originally written by American songwriting team comprising of lyricist Al Dubin and composer Harry Warren, this was first performed by comedian, singer, actor and dancer Eddie Cantor in the 1933 film Roman Scandals.

In 1934 the song grew in popularity after a recording was released by bandleader Abe Lyman and His Californian Orchestra, best known for their contributions to the US radio and television show Your Hit Parade.

We then jump forward to 1992, when Annie Lennox was recording the album Diva. Her cover of the song would later be added to the CD release of the album as a bonus track (track number eleven), whereas the original vinyl release only contained ten tracks.

Whilst this was never released as a single, the album itself entered the UK charts at number one and remained there for two weeks, going on to sell over 1.2 million copies here in the UK alone.
