And now for something completely different…although, in the grand scheme of things, Monty Python could be considered relatively normal compared to a lot of the offerings from the inner jukebox over the years and besides…I’m chopping up an old tree later (no seriously, I am).

Famous the world over, this first appeared in the ninth episode of Monty Python’s Flying Circus on 14 December 1969. It was then released as a single in the UK produced by George Harrison, who also appeared in a 1976 Python performance disguised as a mountie – and never told anybody he was there.

In 2002 the Pythons were joined by Tom Hanks for a version of the song, performed in tribute to George Harrison.
