1 November, 1976.

Everyone needs it, not enough have it and those that do have it aren’t sharing it. Well, isn’t that just a cheery start to a dreary Sunday morning? Pretty much sums everything up nicely though and at least the inner jukebox isn’t making dreadful hip jokes this morning.

This was Abba’s follow up single to Dancing Queen and the second to be released from the 1976 album Arrival

With the original working title of Been and Gone and Done It, this was about a woman who, despite working, still struggles financially and is therefore looking for a well-off man to solve her problems. Hey, it was the seventies, times and attitudes were very different. We have grown since then, haven’t we?

The song gave Abba a number one in seven countries although the Americans didn’t take to it so well, it only reached number fifty-six on the US charts. Here in the UK it spent twelve weeks on the chart and peaked at number three.
