And ain’t it crazy indeed…but lovely if you’re lucky enough to have it in your life.

The story is that Freddie Mercury came up with this song whilst in a bathtub in Germany. He composed the song in about ten minutes on a guitar, an instrument he couldn’t really play, hence the simple structure to the song. It went on to become the first song for which Mercury would play guitar live on stage.

Although the sound was very different for the band, sounding more like Elvis than Queen, it became a huge hit with the fans and reached the top ten in twelve countries, including number one in Australia, Mexico, Netherlands and the US, where it gave them their first number one in that country. Here in the UK it spent fourteen weeks on the chart and peaked at number two.
