13 March, 1970.

If this is in my head it can mean only one thing – I have discovered a steamingly fresh pile of cat puke whilst stumbling about half awake (thankfully not stumbled through it though) and started humming this to myself. Well, cat food/cat puke, it’s one and the same really, isn’t it?

This was King Crimson’s second single release, from their second album In the Wake of Poseidon. An album that was my first introduction to King Crimson. After seeing the album artwork I knew I just had to listen to it.

Their appearance on Top of the Pops, in 1970, was King Crimson’s only TV appearance right up until 1981, and whilst this song never reached the single charts, the album was their most successful in the UK, peaking at number four on the album chart.
