Well this is a jolly little ditty to start the day, even if that day is as rainy and miserable as it can be. Maybe the inner jukebox is actually referring to the rain, I mean, it’s been here pretty much every day since July started!

This was the second single released from The Wannadies‘ third album Be A Girl and was originally released in 1994 to critical acclaim in their home country Sweden. Shortly after that it caught the attention of record label Indolent Records in the UK and the song was released here in 1995. It went on to become their biggest selling single, spending four weeks on the UK chart and peaking at number eighteen.

The song later featured on the 1997 album Bagsy Me, after it was included in the soundtrack for the 1996 film Romeo + Juliet.
