4 December, 2000.

In light of just having had my second medical procedure in a year, I feel the question should actually be ‘can we fix me?’ and the answer to that (so far) seems to be yes we can. One decrepit joint at a time.

Written by British composer Paul K. Joyce this is of course the theme song from the popular children’s animated TV show Bob the Builder, with vocals provided by Neil Morrissey who was the voice of Bob at the time this was recorded.

On its release the song was absolutely huge. So huge that it knocked Eminem’s Stan off the top of the chart, prevented Westlife from reaching number one with What Makes a Man and went on to spend twenty four weeks on the chart, including three weeks at number one, becoming the undisputed Christmas number one in 2000. It was also the biggest selling single of the entire year and has sold over a million copies to date.

The madness didn’t stop there though, oh no, it reached far beyond these shores when the song made it to number one in Australia as well.
